saved my workout route Feb 01, 2011
By S. M. Chapman I'm 28 years old and having been swimming regularly since I was 12, but recently I developed some sort of allergy to chlorinated water. It's really a nightmare. After swimming, I would get a horrible, itchy, eczema-like rash that would drive me nuts during the day and evening, as well as keep me up most of the night! If I fell asleep, I'd wake up to find that I had been scratching my skin in my sleep. Truly awful! And, all of my scratching was driving my husband nuts. I tried moisturizing body washes, lotions, benedryl, and cortisone cream, but nothing worked. I really thought I was going to have to quit swimming :(
However, after doing some internet research, I came across some other swimmers suffering from the same thing who suggested this product. DurmaSwim is truely amazing! It's very think and gunky to put on--and of course I'd rather not have to use it--but it really works to protect my skin from the chlorine. I only put it on the parts of my body that typically break out in the itchy rash. (Make sure you rub it off of your hands before putting on your swim cap and goggles--you must rub, it will not wash off right away.) I typically swim for 50 minutes and by then it washes off with no residue in the shower. I still lotion myself well afterward. Thanks to this product I can still swim; I can still do my favorite type of exercise! I wish I could say that my skin never itches, but the truth is that it still itches a bit. However, this small amount of remaining itchiness is NOTHING compared to how bad my skin is when I do not use this product. What a great product!

Great Stuff! Jul 09, 2010
By Robin, Norfolk VA My son suddenly started getting a painful, burning rash on his thighs after swimming in our pool. I did a little research on chlorine rashes and found DERMA SWIM-PRO. My son tried it and no rash! He carefully applies it prior to swimming everytime and his words were "This is great stuff Mom. Thank you!" I would say that is pretty high praises from a twelve year old. I am getting ready to order two more tubes.

Great for sensitive skin, eczema Feb 17, 2011
By AndriaLL Keeps my skin from getting itchy and smelling like chlorine. My daughter has eczema and doesn't go in a pool without it. We've been using it since about 2007 and dread getting in a pool without it.

Happy Swimmer Feb 07, 2012
By M. Myers

I hate running, but love swimming, and was happy until I ended up with big chemical burns from the chlorine.
I have been using this stuff for a year now and it works great and is the reason I can still work out in the pool at the gym. I need it more in the winter than in the summer. The directions say put it on something like 20 minutes before you get to the pool, and that is important. I put it on before I drive to the gym and it is set in and working fine by the time I get to the pool. Do not put it on after you get out of the pool to moisturize if you forgot to put it on before, it's meant to be a barrier beforehand. I also wash off with a plain antibacterial soap after I get out (Cetaphil), because that was recommended by swim web sites.
I would like to add though, that while this stuff is great and it probably works for most people, I do not think it will work for everyone. I'd imagine if you have extremely sensitive skin, even this may not be enough.
