4Incredible underwater footage....  Sep 20, 2010
By PadiDiver loves it...
The Intova IC 12 is an amazing feat of underwater engineering. With an updated processor and HD video capabilities, it surpasses the capabilities of the IC 10. I purchased this camera about 8 months ago and I have dove with it all around the world: the Med, Roatan, and Hawaii. There is no better camera available on the market that provides for such versatile picture/video results. It's compact size is designed perfectly for traveling and does not hinder its performance at deep dives (120ft).

I have been a dedicated user of Intova torches and feel they are unmatched during night dives and I finally chose to upgrade from the IC 10 to the IC 12 and the pictures and video I am capturing are simply unmatched compared to my peers equipment (Canon, Sealife, Nikon).

Lastly, the customer service with Intova coupled with quick responses has been unmatched. While diving a wreck off the south shore of Oahu, we were experiencing a bit of chop. As I was climbing back up the ladder, the boat rocked a bit harder than expected and my housing took a pretty tough hit. The camera was not compromised and the housing was still water tight, however, and I had damaged some of the external buttons. I called Intova as soon as I was topside and I had a new housing within 10 days (and its performing just as expected).

Great product, all of the dive shops here on Oahu carry Intova torches and cameras, and they're reliable.

1Leaked in 15 feet of water...  Jul 13, 2010
By Goblins R Us
Purchased this camera from our local dive shop after dropping (and destroying) an entry-level digital camera from Sealife. Several people in the shop lauded Intova for this design, they claimed that it held up well to a great deal of abuse and provided excellent shots. We took it out on a shore dive after making sure that everything appeared to be in working order. We took some beautiful pictures with the camera before noticing that the housing had begun to fog. We had been underwater at a depth of about 10-15 feet for approximately 40 minutes at this point... There was approximately 3mL of water in the housing by the time we made it back to shore. We promptly returned the camera to our wonderful friends at the dive shop and placed a phone call to Intova customer service last Saturday, which has yet to be returned.

Perhaps this was a one-time fluke, or perhaps it is an issue with the newest housing. Either way, I'd buy from a reputable source that will offer a no-hassle refund should the product be faulty out of the box, as ours was. If you purchase from an authorized dealer (as detailed on intova's web site), you are entitled to a one-year warranty. Purchasing this item for less in the "grey market" will void that warranty. Be careful!

4Great for the price!  Apr 16, 2012
By Scuba Steve
This is a great camera for the price. Takes great pics for simple camera in a water tight enclosure. After reading some of the complaints I had to laugh because these people were complaining on features that you would have to pay at least 4 or 5x the price. I mean really. If you just need something simple to use and to take some great underwater pics or movies get this. It's well worth the money, enough said.

2Ok for beginners, but a few serious shortfalls  Jan 04, 2012
By Nick Goddard
This is a fairly cheap camera, and you get what you pay for. The waterproof housing is very reliable and somewhat easy to figure out. The buttons are a bit small, but I don't have a problem using them. It does fog up some times, so it's a good idea to put some dessicant in the housing to prevent this. The camera itself takes mediocre photos. It does not handle underwater shots very well unless they are macro shots. Distance photos from more than a couple feet are washed out with blue even while using the flash. I've applied software red filters and adjusted the levels, brightness, and contrast, but most photos are sub par in comparison to other cameras on the market. The battery life is terrible and generally lasts around an hour or two of sporatic usage. If you are just looking for a camera to take some quick snaps now and again while snorkeling or some easy scuba diving, this is an ok camera. If you like quality photos and want a camera which holds it's battery life, buy something else like a GoPro.
