5Impressed!  Mar 22, 2011
By DalesWife
This only my second review ever but I wanted to be sure to write it since I was a bit hesitant to purchase something that had no reviews.

I've just received the grey/blue Speedo water shoes and WOW, I am IMPRESSED!

I needed to purchase water shoes for a cruise we will be going on and really didn't want to settle for the cheap $10 water shoes that have very THIN soles, since we'll be climbing on rocks, river tubing, etc. on our cruise. We also live in Florida so I needed water shoes for walking around Busch Gardens and boating/beaches/watersports that we do here at home.

These shoes have a great look to them, they look very much like "real" tennis shoes, which is exactly what I wanted. The colors are also nice.....I've already decided to order the pink and black pair as well, and I hope those colors look as nice as these.

The shoes are a bit snug to put on, even pulling on the back loop doesnt help with getting them on, it's necessary to actually hold open the shoe with your hands while you put them on. But once they're on, they fit perfectly. I like that they're a bit tough to put on, hopefully this will help them not to slip around much once I get them wet.

There are four large areas of mesh on each shoe to provide for air flow into the shoe, and water to exit the shoe. There are also two large areas of each side of the foot (on each shoe) that is completely open, a half-circle cut-out area.

The feel is very comfortable, they are very lightweight and looks like it will provide great protection in a river. The sizing runs a bit large (I think?). In other words, I typically wear a size 6.5-7 and a size 6 fit me perfectly in these shoes.

I'll be back to write more once I test these out in water. My biggest concern is my foot moving around a lot (as it has in other water shoes) making walking difficult when the shoe is wet. I am not anticipating having a problem, as the inside of the shoe feels as though it has some sort of traction to stop this from happening.

First impression: WOW!

EDIT: Tested out the shoes in water and no slipping around. They worked great at the beach! HOWEVER, I would NOT recommend these shoes for walking around cruise ports and/or amusement parks. Just below the insole is a honeycomb-like area and unless you're extremely thin, you will feel this every step you take. I ended up giving the shoes to my niece who weighs about 90 lbs, and she can't feel the honeycomb beneath the insole so they're very comfortable for her. I would have kept them if I ONLY wanted them for boating or beach, but I'm looking for something I can also walk around amusement parks and cruise ports.

5Great shoes!  Mar 25, 2011
By Christy C. Young "cyoung"
These shoes are super comfortable, lightweight and easy to get on and off. They also look great! I was using the cheap water shoes you get from the local beach stores and they kept falling apart. The others I found didn't stay on, drain properly, or had drain holes in the bottom of the sole so really couldn't be worn to/from the pool or on the beach. I wear these from home to the pool with no problem. I now have more stable footing on the pool floor and around the pool. They provide me with more cushion while walking or other water activities, which is great for my terrible knee joints. They drain quickly and are always dry the next day and ready to wear. They stay on my feet well, do not slip on my heel, have great traction and the sole doesn't come flopping out like some others I have had. I did have to get used to them in deep water. They are very lightweight and felt almost like floats on my feet for the first couple of classes. Once I got used to them, I now feel more controlled movements. I love these shoes and am very glad I got them!

5My New water shoes  Jun 03, 2011
By Vara
These are the best shoes for my aquatics. They are so light and don't weigh me down like my old ones during my intense 90 minute aerobic class. They dry fast too for my next class. I am very pleased with them and recommend to anybody who loves water sports. Vara Speedo Women's Hydro Comfort Amphibious All Purpose Water Shoe

3Only had them for a month and they are stretching out  May 06, 2011
By T. Mackenzie
They are sooo comfortable and light but... I go to H20 aerobics about twice a week, I've had them about a month or so and they are already loose and the the back bungie thing on one has already broke (that's not that big of a deal). So if you're planning on excercising in a chlorine... may want to think twice.

3OK, but....  Feb 25, 2012
By AFretired
Ordered a half size larger for length; they fit fine, though a little wide. The inside seams are not well finished, causing blisters. Wore them in the surf on Fl beaches; the water drained well, but the sand and silt remained in the shoe. Finally took them off. Probably won't wear them again without socks, to avoid blisters, and not when wading in the surf. The loop on the back of the heel is not well secured; both pulled out the first time I put any pressure on (to help get the shoe on when it was wet). Arch support is present, but not as good as hoped for. Next time I'll suck up the price and get Keenes.
