I have had the same mini-speedo for over ten years and it still looks like new. However, now that I'm a bit older, I didn't feel comfortable in public wearing this tiny speedo (I'm over 50). This new longer style fits perfectly. Make sure you buy a size that is two (2) times larger than your regular pants size. My pant size is 34, so I bought a 36 speedo. I have no idea why they gauge speedos this way. The fit is nice and snug. When swimming I use regular longer loose trunks, but for SCUBA diving, I needed a tighter, but flexible fit for under my wetsuit. The reason my speedo had lasted so long is that it is (evidently) made from a trademarked xtra life LYCRA. Who knew? But at my age, I feel comfortable wearing it.

I've bought this same suit twice now, and I'm still satisfied with it. I like the style, its comfortable, and it makes me swim super fast! (well, as least slightly fast than in my baggy trunks)
I wear a 34 or 36 size pants, depending on the day and the brand of pants. I bought a size 36 suit, and it is nice and snug, but not too tight. And the snugness relaxes after a bit of use. I swim 2-4 times a week in a chlorinated pool, and I agree with other reviewers in wishing that the suit lasted longer. But I've never owned a suit that was impervious to chlorine, and all things considered, this suit is a keeper. My first one lasted about seven months before the fabric near the seams started wearing out and becoming transparent.

Can't go wrong with Speedo Feb 14, 2012

So what makes jammer swimsuits good? Fit, durability, and style. The xtra life lycra really does hold up. No fadding so far. I've had this new pair for about 2 months and i swim 4 times a week. Now that i've worn mine for a while, they seem to conform to my body. Great job Speedo!

I followed the speedo measuring chart and also read the various posts. I've been wearing Speedo Jammers for a couple of years. I'm a 30 waist and so I ordered a 30 Speedo. Way too small. 32 was also too small. 34 is my size. I would say get it at least one size if not two larger than actual waist measurement if you like to also breathe when you have the suit on.

Definately order 1 or 2 sizes bigger than you usually would. I am a 30-31 waist and bought it on a 32. It was still pretty tight. Now I purchased it on a size 34 and all is good.
This is an update for 3/22/12
The shorts are doing fine (2 months now) I use them 1-2 times a weeks for 1000 to 1500 meters (20-30 laps) everytime. So far no discoloration, no loss of elasticity and no fungus growing (I think I saw a review saying he had fungus groing on it). I rinse it with warm water once after swmming, no soap, no washing machine, I don't twist the thing to squeeze every last drop of water out of it and I always let it dry at room temperature (68-72F) in a shade (I don't leave it exposed to the sun). I don't think these are extraordinary things that I am doing. Anyone can do that extend the lifetime of your product.
