Swedish goggles Aug 07, 2011
By Jason Before you buy these, you must know what swedish goggles are. they are a little hassel to setup yourself, but you get used to it. The straps on these speedo ones are stronger than other companies (esp. tyr's cheapo black straps) and last a very long time. the lens are actually actually made by malmsten (the original swedish goggle company). the Smoke/multi tint works great for indoors (haven't tried outdoors). As with any goggle's antifog claims, it's probably short lived in the chlorinated environment. But i don't care because a wad of spit makes it anti-fog for the entire practice. Will never buy another kind of practice goggle. Much slimmer profile than speedo vanquishers and more durable, plus cheaper and look cooler.

Good stuff Dec 05, 2010
By Vadim Golub 2 pairs of fine classic swedes from Malmsten with Speedo inscriptions. Both are dark, so if your pool is dark you would better choose the light ones.

Fantastic deal for great goggles! Nov 10, 2011
By jschristian44 These are fantastic. I had a tough time trying to find the right goggle that would fit and be comfortable. I had the Speedo Vanquishers which were nice, but they fogged up way too much and hurt my head. I then got some Finis ones which were comfortable and everything, but the tinted just wasn't good for indoors. I tried to stay away from Swedish goggles because they had no comfort protection on them, but I was wrong. They feel just like the sealed goggles and are much better because they are much more lightweight and you can get a much better seal with them. They are also tons cheaper. I really like these and they are very high quality and should last me very long. The clear is fantastic, it's like having nothing there. The black should work very nice outdoors.

Great goggles for serious swimmers - improved! Apr 10, 2012
By T. Black Below, I copied my review of the original Swedish goggles, which I have used for years. There are a few things that I would add regarding this Speedo version.
1) Anti-Fog works great! Following my procedure below (number 3) I swam a 1000 yard workout with no fog whatsoever! Very impressed. Usually my old ones would be foggy after about 200 yards, and worthless by 500. (***UPDATE - it worked great the first time...now they fog like usual***)
2) the inclusion of a mirrored set for this price is great. I've never owned the mirrored due to the others being so cheap, so I look forward to trying these during my next daytime swim.
3) quality control on my last set of 'regular' swedish goggles was a bit lacking, as there were some rough edges where the goggles mate to your face. These Speedos are as smooth as a baby's behind.
Original Swedish Goggles review...
I have been using Swedish goggles for about 20 years, for competitive swimming as well as recreational/exercise swimming. When I was just a wee lad I used the leaky foam ones like everyone else, but once I changed to Swedish I never went back. When adjusted properly, they fit very well and don't leak at all. Here are a few tips if you are having problems with leaking/fog. Ideally, get someone who wears them already to show you how to fit them. If that's not possible, here are some tips that should help.
1) Make the rubber strap the correct length. It doesn't need to be super tight, but tight enough so that when you push off of the wall or dive in, the goggles don't move/leak
2) Adjust the nose strap to the correct length. If you are having water leak in around the eyes, try twisting one eyepiece relative to the other before you put them on. This twists the nose string and tightens it up a bit. It may take a few twists to get them just right, but is much easier than trying to get the little string tied just perfect. For me, I can tell it is tight enough when I get just a little extra tightness where they hit my nasal bone.
3) Put them on when you're dry to reduce the fog. If you wet the goggles or yourself before putting them on, you're just letting extra moisture into the lens cup. However, like all goggles they will eventually fog up. When they do, fill the cups up with water and drain them carefully to get all of the water out without leaving drops in there.
The straps on mine tend to last about a year, especially if I don't use them over the winter. So I usually replace them every year...no big deal since they're under $10 and way cheaper than speedo or others. I also like the Swans for racing, but they are harder to find, and not durable enough for everyday use (in my experience).
Bottom line: if you want some reliable goggles for swimming laps, go for the swedish. They do take some getting used to (especially if all you have used is the foamy or rubber gasket kind), but once you get them just right they perform much better in terms of leakage and durability for every day use. I usually get one tinted and one clear for day/night/indoor use. Best of all, they are dirt cheap! Happy swimming =)
