Best pack/travel towel ever Jul 22, 2010 Yes, it is different than a normal towel...much better!
I am a swimmer and am used to chamois towels. I love this large one because it's long enough to actually reach across and dry my back. It is the perfect pack or sporting towel because it's compact and always works. If it's wet, just twist and ring out the water and dry some more.
I've never stored chamois wet in their container. Just let it dry and fold it up! When you need to use it again, get it wet and use it to dry off.

Towel is fine if you are used to this kind of product Aug 14, 2009 If you are used to using a chamois-type product to dry your body you will be fine with this selection. As others state you need to keep the towel moist. Had no problems getting it rolled back up and in the tube provided. Size is adequate. If you are not used to this kind of product to dry your skin you need to know that it rubs the water off, it is not like a cotton towel. But it's easy to pack, use and you don't have to worry about drying it like a towel. I will wait to see what happens when it is stored over the winter in the tube (damp).

This thing smells.. needs a washing when you first get it. Jul 04, 2009 This thing is stinky and gets hard as a rock if you dont keep it moist like the package says but if you let it get wet again it will get pliable.
